Welcome to the Chair of Accounting

JProf. Dr. Sandra Kronenberger

The main objective of my teaching is to develop the students’ ability to apply principles and generalizations learned in class to new problems and situations, to enhance their capacity to make wise decisions and to think for themselves. I try to create an atmosphere in which students feel they can evolve, where they can freely ask questions, and are motivated to participate in the discussion. At JGU, I am teaching the Master's level courses "Game Theory in Accounting" (winter term),  “International Accounting” (summer term) and "Accounting Theory" (summer term) . You can find detailed information about teaching and all the courses in the section Teaching.

My research is focused on the economics of accounting and analytical accounting research. My interests include financial reporting, accounting conservatism, corporate governance and auditing. I focus on strategic interactions and information communication between managers, shareholders, board of directors, and auditors and how this accounting information is subsequently used in the decision-making process of firms and investors. You can find more information on my current and past research as well as faculty seminars and brown bag seminar in the section Research.

All the news will be published in the News section, so check out the latest information on the courses, research and open positions there!
